White set skim coats are a mixture of soaked lime and plaster.
Once the mixture is mixed to a workable white wet mix, we then repeatedly apply the mixture until the
plaster becomes dry giving it a smooth, glasslike finish. This is a common choice of finish amongst our
customers and as such we are highly experienced in it. An advantage of white set skim coats is it is applicable to previously rendered or painted walls. It is
a hard finish and is commonly used in commercial and retail areas. One disadvantage is that it
is not weatherproof so we do not recommend an external white set finish.
When applied correctly, white set rendering is one of the most hard-wearing and
practical finishes for damage prone areas. In the event of damage it can be patched and polished with ease,
covering any visible defects.
